I had a couple of days off from both jobs, and I spent yesterday stocking up on groceries and prepping meals for the week:
{baked sweet potato rounds, baked brussels sprouts, baked chicken in a homemade honey dijon balsamic vinaigrette, quinoa}
And today was spent with a much needed beach break.
{panoramic view of the gorgeous Kapalua Bay}
I split my water time equally between stroking across the bay and diving down below the surface, holding my breath as long as I could to stay close to my new fish friends.
I swam along with a puffer fish, found an anxious eel hunkered deep under a coral ledge, dipped into a school of goatfish, and cut through a small group of blue trevally trolling for prey. These larger fish have a broad bank of electric blue painted across their backs that spark like neon under the sunlight.
After my swim, I laid out on the sand and dove into my book. When the sun became too much, I retreated into the shade under the palm trees.
{shady reading spot}
Getting into the ocean is good for your soul. I followed up my ocean swim with happy hour with a friend before having a girl's night up at my house with some vino.
It was a good restorative weekend before heading back into a hectic workweek!
