Even though I've been a bit under the weather, I still have really enjoyed my little three day weekend from work.
Today was another beach day--this time spent with my friend May. I picked her up and we cruised to the forever-delicious Honokowai Farmer's Market to grab snacks for a little picnic.
We spent a good twenty minutes in the little market since May knew almost everyone in the store! Hanging out with May is like hanging out with a celebrity. Everyone knows and adores her, and you'll never know who you will be introduced to because you are keeping her company. It's great!
After May had done her meet and greet with the entire store, we began to sample all the goodies! I'm deeply in love with the sundried tomato vinaigrette, and the cashew carrot vegan "pate" is still a favorite of mine.
May scooped up a little salad, and I grabbed a falafel wrap and away we went!
We doubled back to Airport Beach where it was absolutely gorgeous (see next post for photos). The water was so flat and calm and the water visibility was insanely clear.
May and I spent about 2 hours at the beach before heading back into town to clean up and rest up before meeting up at the harbor for our sunset cruise on the Paragon.

We left the harbor at 5 pm and sailed south towards Launiupoko. May has a good deal of sailing experience, so she got offered to sail us around. After an hour, we made our turn back towards Lahaina where we came across a pod of spinner dolphins.
The dolphins were rallying to hunt for dinner, but they cruised along with us and played up front at the bow of the catamaran.
Everyone up front watching for dolphins
I took a short video so you could see the dolphins in action. The pod had surrounded our boat! You can see a few spinner dolphins leaping on the horizon, and then I focus on the dolphin that insisted on cruising directly underneath us for as long as he could.
It was unbelievable how fast they are! The dolphins sped along the bow of the boat, keeping stride with us as the captain went full throttle. The faster we went, the more fun the dolphins had as they kept in front of us and played in the water breaking off the front of the boat.
After a good twenty minutes of playing with us, the dolphins turned and continued onwards to dinner.

Lovely Miss May
After arriving back at Lahaina harbor, we thanked our crew and watched the sun go down.
It's going to be hard to go back to work tomorrow!
