Wednesday was not only absolutely gorgeous but also our day off, so Bryan and I (of course) decided to spend the day at the beach.
I had never been to Slaughterhouse--which is one of Bryan's favorite beaches, so we headed up north past Kapalua towards Honolua Bay.
Slaughterhouse Beach got its unpleasant name because back in the day, Honolua Ranch had two slaughterhouses on the property over the beach. The slaughterhouses were torn down in the 1960s, but the name has stuck.
You park on the side of the highway and climb a long staircase down to the beach.
Once you get there, the view is spectacular. The day was super calm, so there were perfect swimming conditions in the bay.
A book and a beer.
Why does Bryan love Slaughterhouse Beach? Because it's usually deserted in the late afternoon.
There is NO one else on the beach. Can you spot Bryan in his beach chair?
There is no such thing as a bad day at the beach!
