The past week has been a whirlwind. Things have been heating up in Lahaina--figuratively and literally. The island temperature is starting to rise, and the streets are overflowing with tourists.
Luckily, I got the Fourth of July off last week, and I was so grateful to have missed out on the night of mayhem.
Bryan and I fled our homes near Front Street and went up to our friends' house to have a BBQ and watch fireworks from their backyard. It was a perfect way to spend the holiday.
The next afternoon Bryan and I looked at an apartment that we hope to move into. It's a great space with a spacious kitchen and an amazing view. And! we would be living above our good friends. I've contacted the landlord and am waiting for a return phone call. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
After an easy weekend, it was hard to get back into work--especially since we are dealing with summer crowds at the restaurant. It's been a little tiring, so I managed to schedule myself a three day weekend starting tomorrow!
I've got to get offline and start getting ready for work, but before I do, here are a few photos from the day.
{puka shell bracelets handmade by my coworker Jim}
{it's always exciting receiving real mail. thanks, Miko!}
{gorgeous hibiscus in sunset colors}
{absolutely loving my new grocery store find: black bean humus with a spicy corn relish}
{snack: grainy, nutty bread slathered with black bean hummus and topped with radish sprouts}
AND...if any of you are on pinterest, you can follow me {here} I've been going a little nuts online lately pinning (of course) motivational material for workouts as well as home stuff--it's getting especially bad since I've been lusting after all sorts of cool design ideas for our new apartment.
