When Instagram, the photo app for smart phones, became available for Android users, I wasn't so sure about the enterprise. At first, I was only really interested in applying the filters to my pictures to make them look more "vintage," but I was initially turned off by the photo-sharing/social networking aspect of Instagram.
Somehow, I've come to realize how amazing Instagram is. It's a way for me to share and view photos with my friends, family and even strangers of their day-to-day lives and adventures.
So far, I've been able to follow my friends' creative endeavors (underwater photography, jewelry making, etc.), plan must-see stops on my upcoming Kauai trip (solely based on looking at photographs posted from Kauai residents), buy local jewelry from a girl I didn't know (I somehow found photos of her stuff on Instagram), and my favorite: seeing photos of my beautiful Aunt Michelle that my cousins have posted from Sacramento.
Here are a few snaps that I've posted on Instagram this past week:
{my crowded bedside table: books, bangles and nail polish}
{relaxing before work with Angela Carter and my favorite drink: Tejava iced tea. PS that's a card from my friend Carrie that I'm using as a bookmark!}
{double pony for an afternoon run to tame my shortened locks}
{earrings from Salt on the Rocks, a jewelry maker from Kihei that I met through Instagram}
{getting bundled up last night}
{a breakfast burrito that I made this morning}
{crashing T-Bone's naptime}
{blossoms on my basil plant}
