I had yesterday off from work, so I ran a few errands in the morning and then hit up the beach at Black Rock before retreating from huge gusts of wind that tore up huge sheets of sand that scraped layers off my skin.
I came home and showered off a bucketful of sand. It was gross, but then I became optimistic and thought about all the good-for-me exfoliating that I had inadvertently done that day.
My new roommate, P. is a Culinary Institute extern working at one of the hottest restaurants in Lahaina, and I decided to finally take him up on his offer of swinging by and checking out some of the stuff he works on in the kitchen.
Pacific'O is a gorgeous restaurant right on the beach at 505. The executive team of Pacific'O also own I'o and the luau Feast of Lele (all of which are at the same 505 shopping center).
Not a bad view.
The photo doesn't really do this appetizer justice, especially since I started to tear it apart before even thinking of snapping a photo...but these are the Prawn Wontons that P. sent out for me to try. Delicious!
I caught a little rainbow action on my way out of 505. Notice all the people: they are swarming in for the luau at the Feast of Lele. My favorite guests are the ones in the back wearing matching Aloha prints. I love when people come to our luau at the Old Lahaina Luau dressed all in the same Aloha shirt. It's especially good when it's a group of 4 or more. Misery loves company I guess.
