I have just discovered the shopping bonanza of all time: Piperlime. I realize that I'm not really announcing anything new or innovative to anyone here since most of you are already familiar with this amazing online shopping site.
However, it's new to me, and I must sing its praises. Possibly in a falsetto, operatic voice. I'm that thrilled with my finds there.
I bought this super comfy and soft Maxi Dress (made by Hive & Honey) off the website along with two other great dresses.
All three arrived fast with free 2 Day Shipping. One dress didn't fit so I shipped it back with a free return label provided by Piperlime. I'm already digging the clothes on the website, but the company is SLAYING me with top notch customer service that rivals Zappos.
The dress was super long on a shrimp like me, so I had a sewing savvy coworker hem it for me so it wasn't puddling onto the floor.
I have rocked this dress all around town, and I adore it. It makes me feel super tall (not sure why) and incredibly elegant while being one of the easiest and comfiest garments I own. I love that the dress gently clings my curves without being too form fitting, and best of all, the poly blend means the dress stays cool (which means that I stay cool wearing it--a definite plus on a hot day under the cruel Lahaina sun).
PS: this dress was only $59. Cha-ching!!
Something else that I bought that I'm totally loving and squeezing every penny out of: Lululemon's Speed Short.
They are a pricier piece of athletic wear at $54, but I love, love, love them and wear my one pair multiple times a week (depending on how many times I'm doing laundry in a week given that I only have the one pair to enjoy).
The shorts are made with four way stretch, technical fabric that moves with you and wicks sweat away from your skin. They have a Coolmax liner so you don't get underwear chafe (this sounds ridiculous but it can totally happen--even when you are running a pitiful amount of miles per week like I am) and there are plenty of sneaky pockets (including one zippered pocket in the back of the waistband) to stash keys, your ID and gel packs (I'm not entirely sure what these are, but I'm assuming they are some kind of high energy fueling snack for those who run a whole lot more than me).
Not only are these shorts a complete smarty-pants when it comes to technical and athletic details, but they are most importantly, super flattering.
Really, really flattering.
And maybe even more importantly, very comfortable.
The vents on the thigh provide more room for powerful, muscular thighs while making your legs look super long as you run like a gazelle over hot pavement (this is how I have to imagine myself running in order to not give up the entire process and begin crawling on my hands and knees the rest of the way).
The wide, flat waistband stays smooth and comfortable across your hips and lower stomach as you run, jump and play.
I use these not only for my outdoor running workouts (short-lived as they may be) but also for my indoor circuit workouts.
Bottom line: the Lululemon Speed Shorts are nice to sweat in.
