The Wo Hing Museum on Front Street, directly across from my work, celebrated Chinese New Year today by sending lion dancers down the street and into the neighborhood stores and restaurants.
Two lion dancers came into my restaurant tonight a little after 5:30 pm and surprised the guests as they came through the restaurant. It's good luck to "feed" the lions--money, of course!
When one of the lions came by my tables, I made sure to feed it a few dollars to ensure good luck during the Year of the Horse. It batted its long lashes and bowed down at my feet in thanks.
As you can see here, the guests at work were loving the lions! I took a short video of the two lions entertaining us all--upstairs and downstairs at the restaurant tonight.
Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy New Year!!
