After breakfast I took my visitor, J., out to breakfast at Castaway Cafe then we went along Highway 30 to check out the Olowalu Petroglyphs before snorkeling at Mile Marker 14.
The Olowalu Petroglyphs can be found by taking the road past the water tower that is behind the Olowalu General Store.
We bumped the red rental Jeep along a rocky, unpaved road towards the West Maui Mountains.
The Petroglyphs are carved into the cinder cone at the base of the mountain and are thought to be 200 to 300 years old.
