I took a solo sojourn to Kula this morning to check out one of my new favorite spots on the island: the Ali'i Lavender Farm.
There were several pretty blossoms besides lavender:
But I was mostly obsessed with the vegetable garden. Look at all that lettuce!
I walked through the garden touching everything. There was kale, red chard, basil, tomato plants with lots of yellow blossoms--but no tomatoes yet, squash, cucumbers. I want to have a garden like this!
And then of course, there was lots of lovely lavender.
A view upwards to Poli Poli.
After the Lavender Farm, I drove down Baldwin Road to Paia and made my way home, making an all-important stop at Leoda's for a late lunch.
Back at home, I regrouped, gathered my beach essentials and headed out the door again.

It was a gloriously sunshiny day at Kapalua Bay.

After getting oven baked in the sunshine, I retreated up the hill into some shade.
Beach day essentials:
{shades, library book, best beach towel ever}
On my way out, I got to watch a harpist tune up before the wedding procession arrived on the beach.
I came home in time for a sunset run along the unopened bypass.
So, all in all, a pretty epic day off. And now we're getting ready to rock out to TOLO at Longhi's. Be there or be square!
